She has now filed a lawsuit against the man who allegedly assaulted her in 2016
The 43-year-old reality star has been open about her battle with oral cancer since December. And now, she has gone public about her marriage and health scare in a new book and magazine cover story.
In an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, “The Secret Sister,” she opens up about the painful incident that claimed the life of her estranged husband Bruce — and a year later sparked her legal battle with the alleged abuser of her body.
The couple was married in 2000 and were featured in the hit Bravo TV series, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” She also starred in the highly successful movie, “A Prairie Home Companion,” alongside her husband.
The two were photographed at the wedding by famed wedding photographer, Rick McCallum. “Bruce and I are the most photographed people in the world,” she said in a statement.
“We’ve been in love for eight years, and he’s been in love with me for eight years,” she added. “The fact that we’re on a show and have our own show as a result of our love is so amazing.”
But in 2016, Danner and Paltrow were no longer together.
Paltrow, 38, alleged that Danner hit him and threw his cell phone while he was sleeping in February of 2016 at her home in Malibu, California.
In her book, Danner explains the harrowing events that ensued.
It was in February of 2016 that Bruce began to have a problem with swollen lymph nodes.
Bruce was seen by a doctor where he had no neck problems and was even cleared by the U.S. Army to continue his service.
Danner, who was pregnant at the time, said the doctor diagnosed her with oral cancer.
“The tumor was large and very advanced and I was not responding to treatment. I had a very painful and draining facial, neck and tongue cancer. Then my husband was accused of sexually assaulting me while I was in this state of extreme depression.
