With Outcome Still in Doubt, Congress Opens an Uncertain Post-Election Session
An impasse in the House over the Affordable Care Act has left the rest of the government in disarray and left the White House with an uncertain future.
ARI SHAPIRO, HOST:
Now to the other big Washington story. After a bitter and often contentious campaign season, Congress is in session today. And they’re debating a budget. And that might be just as big news as the Affordable Care Act and the other big budget decisions that Washington has faced over the last few weeks.

Rep. Mo Brooks: And we are faced with the responsibility of saving money in the face of an overwhelming deficit. The only way to do that is to create jobs and save and grow our economy. So, let’s not just reduce the deficit, which is the only thing we’ve heard from the Republicans; let’s get us out of this recession and on a path to prosperity.
