Teen pop star Lindsay Lohan has been on social media for over a decade, but it is a new website called Tumblr that she and her friends are using to share memories and feelings. Lindsay’s older sister, actress-director-singer Paris H. Lohan, has been posting on the website for over nine years. Lindsay Lohan’s mother, Mia Farrow, started sharing photos of her daughter on Instagram in 2003, seven years after she was born.

Lohan has a good sense of humor about her website, and it’s clear in her interview with The Hollywood Reporter that what’s special about Flickr is the ease users can share with friends, family and followers through a simple text message, photo or video message.

“I’m so jealous,” Lohan says of Tumblr. “Flickr makes it easy for me to talk to people through text, send photos, videos from home and a quick text message. It’s perfect!”

On Instagram, she has more than 1.7 million active followers, a number that’s still growing. Tumblr, she says, has over 2.3 million followers, and she posts regularly on Instagram: “I want to be the next one to have the whole world on my phone.”

Lohan’s first Twitter account, also under the name @lindsaylohan, opened in August 2009, with no followers. She’s since added more than 100,000 followers.

She doesn’t think she’ll ever have 1 million Twitter followers, but she says she’s happy with the progress she has made.

Lohan is a Twitter user “because I love the way it makes me feel,” she says.
